to the Starfleet Academy, however, he is disapproved. Yet, his performance is so promising
that he is allowed to apply again in the next year. |

After a new application Jean-Luc
Picard is admitted to the Starfleet Academy. During his studies at the Academy, Picard's
interest in archeology grows. He is supported by his archeology professor, Prof. Richard
Galen, and studies the legendary Iconians among other species. |

Shortly afterwards, Picard wins
the Academy marathon on Danula II as the first freshman, after he has passed four older
cadets at the final hills of the 40 kilometer run. With this performance, he gets the
attention of Admiral Hanson, who later becomes a friend of Picard. |

Starfleet Academy, Jean-Luc Picard encounters the violent Nausicaans for the first time
during a visit on Morikin VII. |

Picard travels to Starbase Earhart
to wait for his transfer to a starship. There, at the Bonestell Recreation Facility, a
disastrous brawl starts when three Nausicaans attack Picard and his friends Cortin Zweller
and Marta Batanides during a Dom-Jot game. Finally, a Nausicaan stabs him with a knife,
severely injuring his heart. The quick health care saves his life; he is implanted an
articificial heart. |

Jean-Luc Picard is transferred to
the USS Stargazer. In the following years, he serves as an ensign and later as a
lieutenant aboard the ship. |

Lieutenant Picard is bridge
officer on the USS Stargazer when his captain is killed. Picard temporarily takes over
command. After the emergency, he is offered permanent command of the vessel because of his
intrepid behaviour. He accepts and is promoted to captain. With only 28 years, he is one
of the youngest starfleet officers to have been offered a command. |

Picard (intentionally) fails to
meet Janice in the Café des Artistes in Paris because he is feared to choose between her
and his command. Shortly afterwards, he returns to the Stargazer. |

Jean-Luc Picard gets to
know Beverly Crusher. Both become good friends, however, since Picard prefers his work as
a Starfleet captain, the friendship doesn't develop to romantic relationship, although
they feel attracted by each other. |

While the Stargazer is in orbit
over Earth, Captain Picard spents a two week shore leave on the planet. He meets Miranda
Vigo and has a short-lived romance with her. |

There is a fatal encounter between
the USS Stargazer, and a ship of a race unknown up to that moment in the Maxia Zeta
system. The alien vessel later identified as Ferengi cruiser, surprisingly attacks the
Stargazer. Picard's ship gets so badly damaged that another hit would destroy the ship. In
this emergency situation, Picard invents a completely new maneuver that will bear his name
later, taking advantage of the sub-light sensors of the enemy. He suceeds in destroying
the Ferengi ship, however, the Stargazer's damage is too heavy so that Picard has to leave
her with the survivors of the battle. Together with his crew, he is stucked for weeks in
the lifeboats floating in space before they are rescued. |

Jean-Luc Picard is court-martialed
for the loss of the Stargazer. The prosecuting attorney is Phillipa Louis, who believe he
is guilty. Yet, Picard is declared innocent. |

After the commissioning of the USS
Enterprise-D, Captain Picard is chosen to be the captain. |

station, Picard asks Q not to bother humanity again. |

during the flight through a nebula in the Beta Renna system, takes over Captain Picard's
body and beams back with him to the energy cloud in order to exist united with Picard as
pure energy in space. When the meld doesn't work and the being leaves him behind, the crew

Picard that he has destroyed a Ferengi vessel under the command of Bok's son 9 years ago

death. Using a mind manipulator, he attempts to make Picard believe in his guilt
concerning the incident, with the captain reliving the entire scenario aboard the
Stargazer. Yet, Bok doesn't succeeds; Picard's crew can save him from the influence of the
powerful device. |

establish contact with the Jarada when he gives a long and complicated speech in the
Jarada lanugage. This was the Jarada's condition for diplomatic contact with the

father alive in order to save the Klingon Empire from a civil war. |

Picard investigates on the mysterious destruction of the Amargosa observatory when he has
to learn of the death of his brother Robert and his nephew René after a fire in their
house in Labarre, France, Earth. Suffering, he hardly manages to continue the
investigations, leading to Dr. Tolian Soran, who wants to get into the timeless nexus with
the controlled destruction of stars, and the Duras sisters, who support the insane
scientist. |

Capt. Picard loses his command of
the Enterprise-D when the engineering section is destroyed after an attack of the Duras
sisters and the saucer section is irreparably damaged by the crash on Veridian III.
Despite this loss, he can stop Soran together with Captain James T. Kirk, presumed death,
but actually stuck in the Nexus for 80 years and brought back to the present by Picard,
foiling his plan to destroy the Veridian sun and therefore all planets in the system when
the Nexus arrives. |

space again and can make it to Earth without being stopped, Picard takes initiative
despite the order to hold position at the Romulan Neutral Zone. He takes the Enterprise-E
into battle near Earth, where he manages to destroy the Borg cube with the support of the

When the Borg that could escape
the explosion of the mother ship in a sphere travel back in time to assimilate Earth in
the 21st century, Captain Picard and the Enterprise-E travel back as well to the year
2063. They intend to stop the Borg by all means, that beam to the Enterprise shortly
before the destruction of the sphere and slowly assimilate the ship, supervising the first
warp flight of Zefram Cochrane and the subsequent First Contact with the Vulcans. |

making the Evora homeworld an official Federation protectorate when he hears of problems
during the sociological examination on Ba'ku his ops officer Lt. Cmd. Data participates.
Against the orders of the Admiral supervising the Ba'ku mission, Matthew Dougherty, Picard
and the Enterprise travel to the planet in the Briar Patch, where he discovers the dark
secret that the Son'a intend to relocate the inhabitents of Ba'ku with the help of the
Federation in order to harness the special, rejuvenating properties of the planet's rings.
Subsequently, Captain Picard and some of his senior officers put off their uniform and
successfully support the Ba'ku in a planetary insurrection against Admiral Dougherty and
the Son'a. |
