SD 9521 |
29 year old Ensign Tuvok is
transferred to the USS Excelsior as junior science officer. On his first mission he has to
support Captain Sulu's attempt to free Sulu's fellow officers Captain Kirk and Dr. McCoy
who have been unjustly imprisoned as the murders of the Klingon chancellor Gorkon,
however, he refuses to violate Starfleet protocols and speaks against the views of his
captain. Finally, this mission only increases his reservations against Starfleet and
humans. |
|
|
2298 |
Ensign Tuvok resigns from
Starfleet because of his unsolvable problems with the multicultural surroundings and the
unpredictable emotionality of most humans. He subsequently undergoes the Kohlinar on
Vulcan. |
2304 |
Tuvok interrupts his studies to
take a mate, T'Pel, in the course of his Pon Farr. In the next decades, he will become the
father of four children: three sons named Sek, Elieth and Varieth and one daughter named
Asil. |
|
During his time on Vulcan, Tuvok
teaches Archery science at the Vulcan Institute for Defensive Arts for some years. |
2349 |
Having become more wise and
experienced with his fatherhood, Tuvok re-enters Starfleet and initially only has the rank
of an ensign. He is transferred to the USS Wyoming. |
2349-65 |
However, Tuvok leaves the Wymong
shortly afterwards since he perfers theoretical studies over the practice in deep space.
He accepts a post at Starfleet Academy, teaching there as an instructor for 16 years. |
2353 |
After Tuvok's eleventh Pon Farr,
his daughter Asil is born in the city of T'Paal. |
2365 |
Being an experienced instructor
and tactician, Tuvok is comissioned to work out an tactical analysis on Captain Janeway's
first mission as commanding officer of a starship. His report to the investigative
comission criticizes the execution of military trainings and inspections, altogether 43
violations of tactical regulations of Starfleet. |
|
Since Tuvok wants to return to
space, the Admirals Paris, Finnegan and Nechayew decide to transfer him to Janeway's ship,
the USS Billings, as a tactical officer. Despite initial differences, a mutual close
friendship develops in the next years. |
2368 |
Together with Captain Janeway,
Tuvok is on Vulcan when he obtains a Vulcan meditation lamp, an important accessory for
every Vulcan, from a Vulcan master. |
Late 2360s |
Tuvok is transferred to the
Jupiter station. During his time on the outpost he writes letters with Captain Janeway, a
close friend in the meantime. |
2370 |
Tuvok undergoes the Pon Farr. He
pretends to suffer from Tarkalean flue, but Kathryn Janeway discovers the truth. |
2371 |
Lt. Tuvok becomes the tactical
officer and security chief of the new USS Voyager, under the command of Captain Kathryn
Janeway. |
January |
Before Tuvok begins active duty on
Voyager, he infiltrates the Maquis as a undercover agent. He is appointed flight
controller on a Maquis ship under the command of former Starfleet officer Chakotay. In the
Badlands, this ship is hurled across the Galaxy to the Delta Quadrant, where the crew has
to undergo extensive tests of the Caretaker. |
SD 48315 |
When the USS Voyager is brought to
the Delta Quadrant as well and all crew members have been returned from the Caretaker
array to their ships, Tuvok reveals his true identity and reassumes his old post as
Janeway's security ship on Voyager. |
2374 |
|
Februar |
In a solmn ceremony in Voyager's
mess hall, Tuvok is promoted to lieutenant commander by Captain Janeway for his
extraordinary work in the last years. |

SD 54238.3 |
Tuvok reaches the phase of Pon
Farr again. Tom Paris learns about the reason of his "illness", but respects
Tuvok's desire for privacy; officially Tuvok has the "Tarkalean flue". Captain
Janeway knows what that means but remains silent as well. In order to hide Tuvok's exact
condition from as many crew members as possible, Tom Paris treats him; together with
meditiation and a treatment developed by the Doctor, a holographic recreation of Tuvok's
wife T'Pel can indeed help him to come through his blood fever quickly and without greater
complications. |
SD 54973.4 |
Tuvok can't keep the neurological
illness he has already suffered from for some time a secret anymore, when Admiral Janeway,
who has come back from the year 2403
to bring Voyager home safely
and quickly, tells the Captain of the extreme deterioriation of Tuvok's mental condition
if he doesn't return to the Alpha Quadrant in time. The illness, which causes a lapse in
concentration in its early phases and later inevitably leads to mental aberration, can
only be cured by the mind meld with a family member in the so-called fal-tor-voh ritual. |
|
Thanks to the efforts of Admiral
Janeway, who dies in the course of the events, and the Captain, the crew of Voyager
returns to Earth shortly afterwards so that Tuvok can undergo the ritual on his nearby
home planet Vulcan. |
