Log

2373
Stardate 50825.7 When the Borg invade Federation space again, the Enterprise is commissioned to observe the Romulan Neutral Zone. After the Federation fleet couldn't stop the Borg cube and the Borg vessel approaches Earth, Captain Picard decides to intervene. He takes over the command of the fleet and succeeds in destroying the cube due to his experiences with the Borg. An escape pod, however, travels back in time and alters the past. Consequently, the Enterprise travels back as well. In the 21st century, the crew supervises Zephrym Cochrane's first warpflight and the First Contact, after the Borg aboard have been eliminated. As a result, large parts of the engineering and the navigational deflector are assimilated or damaged. After the successful ending of the mission, however, the crew nevertheless succeeds in returning to the year 2373.
2375
SD 52865 Aboard the Enterprise, a ceremony for the admission of the Evora to the Federation takes place, when the crew receives the message of a malfunction of Lt. Cmd. Data which endangers the success of the Ba'ku mission, a jointventure of the Federation and the Son'a in which Data took part. Despite the objections of Admiral Dougherty, who leads the mission, Captain Picard sets a course for the planet Ba'ku in the Briar Patch in order to investigate. When it becomes clear that the Son'a and Dougherty intend to resettle the Ba'ku population against their will, Picard leaves the ship with some of his senior officers to defend the rights of the pacifistic Ba'ku. Under the command of Cmd. Riker, the Enterprise flies to the border of the Briar Patch to tell the Federation Council the immoral acts of Dougherty. In the course of the battle with two Son'a vessels, which apply subspace weapons, the Enterprise is heavily damaged. Nonetheless, the crew manages to accomplish the mission successfully and rescues the Ba'ku.
