   Stardate 43989 - 44012 When the Borg invade Federation space, the Enterprise-D is heavily damaged at the encounter with the Borg cube: the warp drive is damaged, the main deflector destroyed, Captain Picard kidnapped and assimilated, therefore the first officer Riker takes over command. After the forced attack on the Federation fleet near Wolf 359, the crew suceeds in rescueing Picard. After the cube has been destroyed with his help, he assumes command again. Borg cube

   Stardate 48650 Attempting to prevent the destruction of the Veridian system by Dr. Tolian Soran the Enterprise is attacked by Soran's allies, the outlawed Duras sisters. The engineering section is destroyed after a warp core breach, and the saucer section crashes on Veridian III due to the resulting shock wave. All crew members are rescued by three starships, among them the USS Farragut, from the surface of the planet.
